Spray volume

Spray volume refers to the amount of water used to dilute a plant protection product into the spray solution. This is a key factor in application and forms part of Good Agricultural Practice. We are therefore gradually adding the authorised spray volumes to the product label.

The spray volume is also an important factor in the assessment of risks associated with the use of plant protection products. The volume used helps determine the physico-chemical properties of the spray solution and thus influences the risks associated with the use of the products. For example, it affects the extent of dermal absorption of the product by the person handling it, or the level of exposure of bystanders and local residents.
