Belgian national requirements

In the zonal system based on Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009, one core dossier is drawn up per zone. However the possibility exists to impose additional national requirements per Member State. In this way, Member State-specific concerns are taken into account. The national requirements per Member State can be consulted here.

The data for these national requirements must be present in the application dossier for plant protection products. They are appended to the core dossier in a national addendum.

Comparative assessment

Comparative assessment and substitution is a requirement for certain plant protection products introduced by EU Regulation 1107/2009. This guidance explains how the Belgian competent authority (the Service Plant Protection Products and Fertilisers, SPF) will undertake comparative assessment and substitution.
